Review: Filson 256 Briefcase & Belt

While I was content with my leather briefcase, there were a few things I wasn’t entirely happy about. It was heavy, it was hard to stuff extra things...

Broadening #menswear
I received an interesting question from reader La Corbusierie:
Could you please help me? I was an honest pursuer of menswear goals, was trying to look nice and classy, was ordering USA-made navy blazers from eBay and honing my collection of Goodyear-welted dress shoes. But now I realize that I feel myself the best in a simple grey sweatshirt, navy chinos and sneakers. I’ve recently felt...

If you’re a registered Tumblr user, I answer questions privately. Or you can e-mail me, too. I don’t do public answers to anonymous questions anymore.
Thanks for reading and...

Summer wardrobe sale updated
If you saw (and probably unpinned) my summer wardrobe cleaning sale from earlier today and noticed some ties were on “hold”, you’ll want to go back and check it out again. Several ties are now back on the block. Thanks and have a great weekend!

From Squalor to Baller: Made-to-Measure Shirt... →
Ian, aka fromsqualortoballer, wrote up his experience with three online MTM shirtmakers. Worth reading if you’re thinking about using these services.
My personal recommendation is MyTailor.com, because their tailor, Joe Hemrajani, travels to measure you in person. Otherwise, I recommend finding a local shirtmaker where you go do multiple fittings until you’ve nailed it down (if...

Style Girlfriend: How often can I put my wardrobe... →
If you can avoid wearing the same suit, trousers, shirt, shoes and tie two days in a row, I’d say you’re probably going to be just fine. Now, there’s nothing keeping you from buying several of the same suit, trousers, shirt, shoes and tie and going the uniform route.
(All this reminds me that I mean to follow-up on my uniform post with some updates on how I’ve modified it...
