Take it to the Tailor: J. Crew Bowery Wool Classic Fit Pants
Continuing my preparation for fall, I took another pair of trousers to the tailor: the J. Crew Bowery Wool Classic Fit Pants.
The classic fit doesn’t have a terrible fit by any means. The leg opening is just fine, it tapers quite well, but the problem comes at the seat of the pants (as others have griped about elsewhere). One $25 trip later and it fits snug and the hips are a bit narrower.

As for the pants themselves, they’re not a bad deal for the price (hoovering right now around $100+ tax and shipping. They’re half-lined to the knee and are dang comfortable.
It’s worth noting though that if you’re spending $125+ (cost plus tailoring) that you might want to consider going for a pair from Howard Yount (prices average around $160). The fit is perfect (waists are true-to-size, FYI), the material is top notch and they’re made in Italy.
