Need an expert advice: - How does one dress down black suede double monks with silver buckles? They are pretty formal looking - but Im sure there's a way.

To make these work better, you’ll want to wear them during the evening and stick with a darker look. Since fall and winter is coming up, I’d suggest putting them with dark denim for casual situations or grey flannel trousers. Up top, I’d look at either a grey flannel sportcoat (if wearing denim) or a black/white/grey herringbone tweed blazer (can go with flannel trousers or denim). For a shirt, I’d go with either a white OCBD (no tie) or white dress shirt (with a wool, cashmere or silk knit tie).

For warmer weather, I’d go sockless with white denim, navy blazer and light blue shirt (or maybe a black/white gingham shirt). Tie optional, but go for something in solid navy — seasonally in linen or raw silk.

Basically, I’d copy these dudes.
