L.B.M. 1911 jackets tend to run a bit short, however, I own two of them and like their fit on me. I actually own a very similar one to the blue cotton double-breasted jacket above. I’ve worn it in the day with white linen-cotton trousers and suede tassels and at night with light-grey tropical wool trousers and black horsebit loafers during the spring months.

It’s on sale: Haberdash — If you haven’t checked out Haberdash’s winter sale yet, it’s worth a look. They’ve got sport coats and suits from LBM 1911 on sale and as well as outerwear from Gloverall and Mackintosh.
The two pieces that really caught my eye a while back though when I visited their store are the New England Shirt Co. denim workshirt and Hertling English drill trousers. I thought the quality of both were rather impressive and they’d work well together for a more rugged, casual look — especially with a pair of workboots. Each are on sale right now for $129.

Haberdash in Chicago offering MTM Hertling trousers this weekend — I forgot to mention this yesterday, but now thru November 12, Haberdash is offering a deal on their made-to-order trousers from Hertling.
Besides being able to get sized correctly for a pair (or several) of trousers, you’ll also get $60 off two pairs, $140 off three pairs and $220 off four pairs. The selection is rather vast — there’s more than 100 different fabrics to choose from — and delivery is within three weeks.
If you’re not familiar with Hertling, they manufacture trousers here in the United States — more specifically Brooklyn, New York. They’ve been making white-label trousers for several menswear brands for quite a while (the company was founded in 1925) but now have pushed to make more of a name for themselves. You can read an interview with their owner, Julius Hertling, here.

This is some exciting news from Haberdash in Chicago. Taking a look at the brand list for their rebranded “Bespoke” store, I’m pretty excited to have a place to try on Alfred Sargent and Carmina shoes and buy Drake’s London neckwear locally.

PSA for Chicagoans
Went to Haberdash Men’s Shop sale in Old Town and they had Grenson shoes for $99 (mostly “G”, wide fittings) along with Edwin selvedge Japanese raw denim for $59 (bought a pair, couldn’t pass that kind of deal up). So, worth a look if you can make it out there. Selection is obviously a bit limited, but if you got wider and longer feet, the shoes are where you can definitely find a good deal.
An interesting note about sizing on the Edwin denim: I’m an actual 34” waist, but had to size down to a 30” (yes, 3-0) in Edwin. It’s slightly tight, but not overly so and the waist stretches in denim quite a bit I’ve found.
