I am pretty excited and relieved to announce that the book I’ve been working on is finally up on Kickstarter and taking pre-orders. During the process I had the good fortuned of working with photo editor Melissa Catanese and designer Elana Schlenker - both people whose skill can only help improve the final piece.
See Again and Again here.

A former classmate and co-worker of mine has a Kickstarter up for his photo book about Christchurch, New Zealand, where he traveled to document the area one year after the earthquake. Peter is a photographer, journalist and all-around extremely nice person based in Chicago and it’s been interesting to see what projects he’s worked on since knowing him at the student paper in college.
His Kickstarter is just under $250 away from being funded with just 16 hours left as I type this.
I’ve backed this to buy a book ($48), and if there’s 5-6 more backers like me out there then it gets printed. If you can, then please help tip this project over!

A photographer's reflections on Scott Schuman

Chicago-based photographer nickgerber saw Scott Schuman at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago yesterday and wrote his thoughts about the event. It’s a good read.

(Also, you should check out Nick’s blog. Very follow-worthy!)

I’ve decided I don’t like making standard runway pictures anymore.

If you like original photography, then give nickgerber a follow (and he shoots much more than just fashion, too). I just thought I’d reblog this here because I assume there’s some crossover interest.
