Valet had a quick section on Kent Wang & his polos. I tried to use your search feature to pull up your old post on them. Would you mind re-posting it?
Here’s the Kent Wang tagged posts I’ve written. But you’re probably better off reading dieworkwear’s review of Kent Wang’s polos on StyleForum and Put This On.
I know lots of other Tumblr folk have Kent Wang polos, so if they chime in, ask them if you’re looking for more info.
I did order one, however, I returned it. Nothing against the fabric or look at all, but I really need a longer length for it to stay tucked in (I prefer to tuck). If they fit you, then you’re in luck. I just tend to be an outlier.
As for the rest of Kent Wang’s stuff I’ve handled, it’s really, really nice. I love the PTO six-fold club tie. Their bi-color silk knits are phenomenal (gave one to my roommate as a gift) and the photos online don’t do it justice. My brother gave me a navy silk grenadine and linen square as a gift and I’m both have become treasured favorites.
ADDING from dieworkwear:
He does MTM polos now. Check his StyleForum thread.

luckily, im eighteen, so anything past sweatpants and sneakers counts as dressing up as far as school goes, so polos i think are nice when i dont have to make an effort in the warmer months. plus im going out to a beach house (the first time i can remember vacationing on a proper beach, super excited) so im tryina get my summer casual on lock.
re pockets-since the weather has started to go into summer overdrive in nyc ive been forced to deprive myself of books/ipod/handheld video games (as for the last two, sue me im a teenager) because i tend to leave things places i ought not.
as such my EDC gets crazy light (keys if i remember, wallet, phone, and maybe a pen), which can either make me feel really one with the universe when i can successfully block out the tourists and the loud babies and that homeless dude that always gets on the train at my stop on saturday afternoons, or (more often) drive me absolutely bonkers.
If it gets ridiculously hot, then, yeah, wear some short sleeves. Do what you gotta do. I just wear thinner dress shirts and roll the sleeves.
I visited the U.S. Virgin Islands last summer for a wedding and it was downright impossible to dress as I usually do, so I definitely wore a lot of polos (along with linen shirts). Beachwear is great and perfect for a beach! Get some leather boat shoes and let the water wear down the leather.
One thing I will recommend: if you can’t swing the price of a pair of linen pants, then try to get a pair of seersucker pants instead. You never have to worry about wrinkles and you can machine wash them.
My EDC is very light now, but just has a few objects that don’t sit so hot in pant pockets. I might do a future EDC post on this.

thoughts on polos?
I prefer to wear mine tucked in, which means I prefer a longer length/tail on them. Consequently, this is harder to find lately as it seems like a lot of options are made for wearing untucked or not suitable toward a longer torso.
As far as design, I prefer solids, no logos and pique cotton. I ordered one from Kent Wang, which was really as nice as everyone’s been raving about. Unfortunately, I had to send it back because it wasn’t long enough for me. Add a few inches to it in length and it’d be exactly what I want.
As far as wearing them, I don’t tend to wear them very often. For work, I feel they’re too casual and typical of casual office wear. For wearing around on weekends or outside of work to casual situations (or if you’re lucky, the beach), they’re perfectly fine.
My one hangup about wearing short sleeves or wearing shirts without some sort of blazer or sport coat is that I find myself not having enough pockets to carry my stuff.
(Yeah, yeah, I know: you need to lighten up your EDC, etc. Sorry, I need to carry a rescue inhaler, so having a jacket is helpful.)

My slim fit polos have been selling very well, thanks to reviews from Put This On, Die Workwear, and others.
Many sizes are already sold out. I’ve already put in the order for the next run which will be available in early June. In addition to restocking the current colors I will be adding:
lavender
grey
pastel yellow
white with navy stripes
navy with white stripesIf you have any other suggestions, leave a comment.
I’m also thinking of shortening the placket by one inch and removing one of the buttons. I’d like to hear opinions on this.
Give Kent Wang a try. Seriously. While their sizing didn’t work out for my odd-ass torso, they’re doing great things with unbranded polos and I’m only disappointed with my genetics, not their polos. They have a great return policy and I’m definitely going to be ordering from them in the future because of it. Check out their sizing and give it a shot and get one solid polo for summer — if it fits you. No point in giving RL or Lacoste your hard-earned bills.

Kent Wang quick take
Polo: Got the size large for the length, but it’s too big in the torso and still even a bit short on me (I like to tuck mine in, which gets more difficult if I wore low-rise chinos). I probably could use a medium, but then it’d be too short. Sadly, I have to return it, however, if you’re of a “normal” torso size in terms of length, then these are super nice. I pretty much agree with what dieworkwear said about them at PTO. I need to find a place that sells polos in tall sizes.
Put This On club tie: Fucking cool. Wearing it tomorrow. Keeping this forever and hope I never spill something on it. This is the second tie I’ve purchased from Kent Wang (the other was a silk knit) and they make some super nice ties. I definitely want to get one of their grenadine navy ties at some point.

What is your advice on picking a nice tie/ polo combo for daily wear? In regards to matching and style and such.
Wearing a tie with a polo shirt? Like, a polo T-shirt? My advice would be to not do it.

Don’t make me pull this shit off man. I’ll do it.
It could probably be done, but I don’t get why you would. I think wearing a short-sleeved shirt with a tie looks odd enough as it is. Adding a polo to the mix? YOU CRAZY FOR THIS ONE!

Some comments and responses
edwinhu said: these are great looking! also have you ever seen a point collar polo shirt? is the “spread collar” really that notable of a feature? just sayin.
I think most polos have a typical collar. Would I call it a “point” collar? No. But looking at the spread on these collars, I’d say they’re a larger angle. FWIW, that’s their copywriting, not mine.
ajamison said: Kent Wang, great stuff. I can’t speak to the polos, but I have 2 ties and a pair of double-sided mother-of-pearl cuff links of his that are fantastic.
Their silk knits are fantastic. I bought one as a gift for a friend and was really impressed.
theodinspire said: Or one could just not wear polos
This is true. I generally don’t wear them that often, but some days just really suck to the point where it’s the best option.

Kent Wang polo T-shirts — These look really nice. The lack of an annoying embroidered logo on the chest is something refreshing to see. They also have mother-of-pearl buttons and a spread collar, which seems to be all the rage these days. The price of $65 might seem high, but it’s still cheaper than Ralph Lauren and Brooks Brothers.
